There comes a point in the winter where I feel like I’m constantly washing the same jeans, over and over again. Last winter I picked up a pair of black (faux) silk joggers from Urban Outfitters and have found myself reaching for these pants every few weeks to change it up. A basic pair of black joggers in a luxe-looking fabric can be just as versatile as your trusty blues.
Elevate your weekend look whether you are avoiding or facing the winter weather. For a cozy day indoors, throw on some Toms slip-ons, a fuzzy beanie and a graphic sweatshirt. Heading out for a day on the town– add heeled ankle boots, a thick turtleneck sweater and top off the look with a bold wide-brimmed hat.
How do you beat the winter wardrobe blues?

2013 is creepin’ up on us! That means you better have your outfit ready soon for ‘the eve.’ As soon as Christmas hits it’s just a flurry of friends and family, then BAM all a sudden you are in a panic to find THE outfit.
I like to think that what you wear at midnight on the 1st of the new year sets the tone for the rest of the year. No matter what I end up doing I like to wear something a little more bedazzled than usual on NYE. Last year I attempted to wear these babies out for the night.
But after dinner my feet were so sore that I couldn’t imagine making it through a night of dancing! This year, since I’m spending the holiday in Key West, where anything goes and a drag queen is lowered from a second story building in a giant glittery high heel, I think I may go full-on glitz. If I could go on a shopping spree I would buy ALL of these items.

How do you like to dress on New Years Eve?
Do you have any New Years rituals? I also like to make sure the 1st song I play on the morning (or afternoon depending on how the eve’s events went) of the new year is something meaningful to me. Again- setting the tone for the year ahead!
As an avid reader of POPSUGAR and their many other websites (they even have one for tech girls- GeekSugar) I was intrigued by their Must Have Box. Subscription boxes/bags seem to be a new trend. I’ve seen market focused ones for beauty products, fashion, health food, and fitness but POPSUGAR’s online publications cover a wide range of topics so theirs is the best of everything—food, style, beauty, media, and lifestyle.
I decided that from the looks of the August box that September could be really worth it’s $35 price (which ended up being $25 from a promo I found online). I ordered and then kind of forgot about it.
Until last Friday when my box arrived!
Like opening a present!
It comes wrapped in pink tissue paper and with a little booklet that explains all the contents. The September box was jam-packed!

As you can see the contents of the box are worth much more than the $35 price. Not to mention, they really are useful. I was planning on seeing Perks of Being a Wallflower and now I can go for free and bring a friend. Benefit is one of my favorite makeup brands so I will definitely make use of the set. I think I wore the scarf almost every day over the weekend. The cleansing face wipes will replace my Clean and Clear ones that just ran out. I could go on but I’ll just say- I’m impressed, good job POPSUGAR! I can’t wait to see what’s inside October’s box, hopefully something spooky?
