5 Tips to Relax After a Long Day

I’m not sure about you, but lately work and life have just been filled with endless amounts of running around and stress. 12+ hour work days + moving to the city have resulted in no time to focus on myself. Or so I thought. I wanted to share a few ways I’ve found to focus on me after a long day at work:

  1. Workout - I know, you’re probably all thinking “why the heck would I workout if I just told you I had a long day?” Well, because it helps clear and settle the mind. It helps keep you healthy, especially if you’ve been sitting at a desk for 8 hours, and it’s just a good thing to do

  2. Drink Tea - I end my night with a hot mint tea, it’s calming and helps speed up my digestion and metabolism so I don’t feel bloated the next morning.

  3. Settle in with a nice book - I’ve recently picked up reading again, and I love it. I’ll share a list in a future blog post of great books.

  4. Home cooked meal - something I’ve been really looking forward to is cooking a nice meal at home and sitting with Jonny to eat and talk about our days. It’s nice to connect with him in that level.

  5. Watch a few episodes of your favorite tv show - Jonny and I love cuddling up on the couch together at the end of the day and watching a few episodes. It’s so great to be mindless for a few hours so your brain has time to decompress.
